Boy or Girl?
Have you decided if you want to know the gender of your baby? Some parents like the surprise, others like to plan. Either way, it’s your decision.
Drink plenty of water.
As you already know, drinking 64oz of water a day during pregnancy is a must, for your and Baby’s health. It’s especially important for clear amniotic fluid, which allows for the best pictures.
Wear comfortable clothing
You may need to move around during your ultrasound so that our sonographers can get the best pictures of Baby. Don’t wear jeans or restricting shirts; stretchy pants and loose fitting shirts or dresses are the best idea.
Cell phone are prohibited
Due to the sensitivity of our equipment, cell phones are not allowed in the ultrasound room. If you are looking for video of Baby, feel free to upgrade your package. View all of our packages on our Services page.
Relax!
Seeing Baby’s face for the first time is very exciting. If you are tense, Baby will be tense too, and may try to hide from us. Come a little early and relax with family in our comfortable, non-clinical setting so both you and Baby will be ready for your close-up!
In order to have a Studios O’Baby ultrasound, you must be in the care of a doctor or midwife at the time of your appointment, and your first prenatal ultrasound must also have already been performed. Keep in mind that ultrasounds performed at Studios O’Baby are an elective procedure, and are not covered by insurance. These ultrasounds do not replace any taken under the supervision of your doctor’s office.
How will I pay for my ultrasound?
As an elective procedure, 3D/4D ultrasound is not covered by insurance. For your convenience, we take cash and all major credit cards. We can also have your full amount prepared ahead of time, so there are no questions.
Is 3D/4D ultrasound safe for my baby and me?
Absolutely! Commercial 3D ultrasound technology has been in use since 1989, with no adverse reactions to mother or fetus. As a matter of fact, 3D/4D ultrasound has lower ultrasound emission than typical diagnostic ultrasounds.
Will my pictures look like the ones on your site?
Not necessarily. There are many factors that will contribute to the clarity of your ultrasound pictures, such as the quality of your amniotic fluid, the position of the baby, and the physical structure of your body. While we cannot guarantee perfect photos, our trained sonographers will use all of their expertise to get you the best photos possible.
When is the best time to have my ultrasound done?
We recommend having your ultrasound done between 20 and 32 weeks. However, you may scan up to 35 weeks. This way, Baby’s features are developed enough for you to see, and Baby is dancing in the womb to be caught on video! Be sure to call and schedule your ultrasound as soon as you can, to ensure that we can schedule a time that is right for you.
Can I bring family or friends?
Our facility is designed for families to be present when Baby’s first pictures are taken. Feel free to bring grandparents and siblings; however, please be sure that there is another adult present to take care of small children. You will need to focus all of your attention on the ultrasound!
